She had emergency surgery at Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital in Hollywood last Tuesday where we was left with her mouth stitched shut. She is schedules to have another procedue at a future date to separate her lips. 4th Annual Caring 4 Kidz Golf Tournament

Hello Everyone,
As you all know, this weekend was our 4th Annual Caring 4 Kidz Golf Tournament and it was a HUGE success.  Thank you to all the Golfers and Sponsors that attended the tournament as well as donated.  Even though this year was our smallest group yet, we actually made more money than we have in previous years.
We sold Raffle tickets for great prizes, that were donated by various businesses, and also did a 50/50. We also had some prizes for the teams that came in 1st, 2nd and 3rd. as well as closest to the pin.
First place went to: Nick Fortunato, Don Conway and Jan, they each received $100.00 cash and they so graciously donated back $150.00 to us!  Thanks Guys.
Second place went to: Rich Iannelli, Frank, and Player Charlie Dale, they each received a 25.00 gift card to Olive Garden.
Third place went to: Allen Smoak, John Marcantonio, Shane Caldwell, Gary Muzzarelli, they each  received a 25.00 gift certificate to the Falcon Pub.
Closest to the pin: Rob Choquette - he recieved a driver from Matt Bodul with "the GOLF MECHANIC".

Another big Thank You goes out to Paul and Napoleon from Best Travel - they donated accomodations in Belize. This was auctioned off and Junior from Emerald Towing won it for $140!
We would like to give a special thanks to Mike [Director of Tournaments] and Shirly Brady [his assistant] for always taking wonderful care of us!

Thank You to The Grill for the awesome food we had and Thank You to Inverrary for always giving us such a wonderful experience.
Thank you to all the volunteers and all the time they spent helping us get ready for the event.
    Till Next Year!

Back To School

Every year Caring 4 Kidz donates backpacks and supplies to a school that needs the extra help.  This year we were lucky enough to ask Lori Poorman, A Broward County school teacher [and friend], to choose the school that she felt needed the help the most.  Lori chose Charles R. Drew Elementary [1000 NW 31st Ave., Pompano Beach, FL 33069] - the Principal is Angline Flowers.  After Lori contacted the school, she asked that we donate shirts and belts instead of backpacks and supplies.  So, we went shopping and got all the shirts and belts we could stand, along with 50 backpacks that we chose to donate as well.
We would also like to thank Jeanise, who went out on her own and purchased school supplies that she donated to the Pompano Chamber of Commerce.
Again, we would like to thank everyone that has donated to our organization - without all of you we surely could not do everything we are able to do to help the less fortunate right here in our own backyards.  It is a great feeling to know that those little children will not feel awkward going to school everyday, because their family cannot afford to get them the necessary things for school.
Have an awesome day, everyone!

Helping Lena

On Friday night, August 19, 2011, Christine was watching Channel 7 news when a story came on about a 14 year old girl named Lena, who is suffering from Leukemia.  While Lena was at Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital getting her Chemo treatments something horrible happened.  A man broke into her grandmothers house, where she lives, and stole electronics out of her room, as well as her brothers, and some gifts that she had just recently received from the Make-A-Wish Foundation.  Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital was kind enough to replace her PS3, but that still left Lena and her brother without their computers and an XBOX360.  That very night Christine contacted Channel 7 and informed them that our organization, Caring 4 Kidz, would like to help replace some of the stolen items.  First thing Saturday morning Christine received a call back form Channel 7 letting her know that they will take the help offered.

As soon as Christine hung up her and I and were off and running to Office Depot where we bought Lena a brand new computer.  Office Depot was kind enough to take $50.00 off the price of the computer.  Then on to another store where we purchased an XBOX360.  Soon after we were meeting with Channel 7 at Lena's grandmothers house to drop off the items - Lena and her grandmother were so thankful that we were there to help.  There is no better feeling in the world that we, a small non-profit organization, could help just a little.  I tip my hat to you Christine for catching this one, considering I don't ever watch the news!

Attached is the link for the story that was aired on Channel 7.  We are also trying to make sure we can raise enough money to replace Lena's brothers gaming system through our Golf Tournament being held on September 10, 2011.  If you, or anyone you know, would like to help we gladly accept donations and/or you can participate in the Golf Tournament.  For more information please send an e-mail to CARING4KIDZINC@AOL.COM

This is truly what our organization is all about, helping make a difference one child at a time.  I feel so incredibly blessed to be a part of a company that can help change a child's life by the little things that we do.
